2008 ADVERTISING DEADLINE SCHEDULE

GENERAL INFORMATION

Deadlines for all issues:
Space reservation and insertion order is due 45 days before date of issue. Artwork and payment deadline is 30 days before date of issue.

Positioning is at the discretion of the publisher.

Special Positions:
Special position requests approved for full and half-page ads only, at an extra charge of 15% of the black-and-white rate. Color and special inserts call for rates

Changes and Cancellations:
Changes in supplied copy or text will be charged for based on a minimum rate of $25.00. All advertisements ordered set and not used will be charged for composition. No cancellations accepted after closing date

Payment:
All orders must be accompanied by a signed contract or insertion order. The Cowboy Chronicle accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, checks and money orders. Please do not send cash. Payment for each insertion must be received by the artwork deadline which is 30 days before the 1st day of the month of the issue. Any late payment will incur 1-1/2% late charge per month. Advertisers who do not complete a contracted schedule will be subject to single-placement rates and may be referred to a third party collection agency. All rates are net, non-commissionable.
 

MECHANICAL DATA

The Cowboy Chronicle is printed monthly in tabloid format. Publication Trim: 11 3/8" x 13 3/4" on newspaper stock, 100 line screen. Distribution: 50,000. Mailed to SASS members, sent in response to membership inquiries, made available to SASS Clubs, sporting goods stores and handed-out at select gun shows and Western lifestyle events. Covers and inside pages are printed on high-speed, open web offset. Number of columns: 4. Column width 2 1/2". Column depth: 13".

Ad sizes are based on a 4 column format. The rate schedule reflects maximum dimensions. We will print your existing ad with smaller dimensions than those shown on an "island" insertion and charge for the space which is closest (over size) to your actual ad dimensions.

CTP - The Cowboy Chronicle is a Computer-To-Plate publication. Please submit camera ready copy or complete ads by e-mail or compact disk (CD) in TIF, EPS or PDF format (200 dpi for halftone, 600 dpi for line art) . Film will not be accepted. Quark Express on a Macintosh computer is used to build the Chronicle

Color ad placement is only available in full, half and one-quarter page sizes, no bleed. Artwork must be provided on computer disk along with proof print.

For Publisher built ads:
A complete, rough layout indicating all elements and information of key importance is required. The publisher reserves the right to vary from a supplied layout in order to maximize efficiency and appeal. Standard typeface and borders will be used unless other is supplied to exact size. Logos must be sent in positive proof form, in black and white only. Publisher built ads will be billed to the advertiser at 20% of the one-time rate for the size ad being built ($25.00 minimum charge).
 

Publisher's Protective Clauses

  1. In the event of non-payment, publisher shall have the right to hold advertiser and/or its advertising agency jointly and severally liable for such monies as are due and payable to publisher. Rendering a bill to the advertiser's advertising agency shall not relieve the advertiser in the event of nonpayment by the agency. Payment by advertiser to its advertising agency will not constitute payment unless payment is actually received by publisher.
  2. Advertiser and its advertising agency shall be responsible, jointly and severally, for all content of advertisements (including text, illustrations, trademarks and any other matter) and shall defend, indemnify and hold publisher harmless from and against any loss, expense or other liability, including publisher's actual attorney's fee, resulting from any claims or suits for libel, violation of rights and privacy, plagiarism, copyright infringement and any other claims or suits that may arise out of the publication of such advertisements.
  3. All space contracted must be used within one year after publisher's receipt of insertion order or contract.
  4. All advertising is subject to publisher's approval. Publisher reserves the right to reject advertising for any reason, including advertising which publisher deems inappropriate or incompatible with the publication's standards.
  5. Publisher is not liable if, for any reason, it becomes necessary to omit an advertisement.
  6. Any errors in an advertisement should be reported to the publisher upon publication. Publisher's liability is limited to first insertion in which errors occur that are the direct result of the publication's printing, mechanicals or typesetting. Publisher's liability for any error will not exceed the charge for the advertisement in question.
  7. Publisher reserves the right to place the word "advertisement" with copy which, in the publisher's opinion, resembles editorial matter.
  8. No conditions (printed or otherwise) appearing on space orders, billing instructions or copy instructions which conflict with the publisher's stated policies will be binding on the publisher.
  9. Publisher is not liable for failure to perform or delay in performance caused by strikes, accidents, fires, acts of God, or other contingents beyond the publisher's control.
  10. Publisher reserves the right to have earlier advertising deadlines, when necessary.
  11. Publisher reserves the right to refuse service to anyone.
